Friedrich Schiller's home from 1802 until his death in 1805, the Schiller Residence, built in 1777, offers a fascinating look at the life of one of Germany's most prolific and important poet-playwrights.
Along with its richly furnished rooms in period style, the home contains many authentic artifacts that once belonged to the writer, from humble domestic items such as coffee- and teapots and tableware, to original drawings made by his children as infants.
The most important room here is Schiller's study, where he wrote many of his best known works.
